Q:How do I report my flying hours in the proposal?
A:We need to know the total hours each pilot that will be named on the policy has logged on the category of aircraft being insured, Ie Fixed-Wing or a Rotary-Wing aircraft. The number of hours each pilot has logged on the class of aircraft being insured, Ie Single Engine Piston (SEP) Multi Engine Piston (MEP) Singel Engine Turbo Prop (SET). Hours on each class count and they can be added togeter to provied the total number of hours logged. We also need to know if any pilot has under 10 hours logged on the aircraft, model and variant being insured.

NOTE: Should you have hours on non powered gliders these cannot be include. Hours on powered gliders and Fixed-Wing microlights may be included under Total Hours on Fixed-Wing aircraft

Q:What is Aircraft Financial Interest endorsement shown on the policy?
A:This is automatically covered in your policy. Finance houses and aircraft leasing company agreements usually require that the aircraft is insured against loss of or physical damage and that the interest of the finance house or leasing company is noted in the policy. During the proposal process you can note any interested parties on the policy. The policy wording provides full details of the cover including any exclusions or conditions.

Q:What is the minimum and maximum number of Insured Flight Days I can book on an On Demand policy?
A:The minimum term is one day, cover will end at 23:59 Hours (GMT) on the booked day. The maximum term is the number of Insured Flying Days you have available on your account. If you book a period of continuous days, cover will end at 23:59 Hours (GMT) on the last day. Should you book one day on the same day you need flight cover for, cover will end at 23:59 Hours (GMT) the same day.

Q:What happens if I book Insured Flying Days but I am unable to use them?
A:We know plans can change and have catered for that. You can cancel booked Insured Flying Days through your FlyCovered account. The Insured day(s) have to be cancelled before 23:59 Hours (GMT) the day before you intended to fly. The cancelled days will be credited to your FlyCovered account and there is no cost for doing this. If you do not cancel before 23:59 Hours (GMT) you will lose that Insured Flying Day.

Q:Am I covered if I use an airfield out of notified hours?
A:Yes you are. The coverage provided by this policy shall not be invalidated as a result of your use of certain airfields and/or airports out of the notified hours, subject to prior permission having been granted by the appropriate owner and/or operator of such airfield and/or airport. Q:How do I cancel booked Insured Flying Days on a Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy?
A:Log into your account. Go to FLIGHT PLANNER in the menu bar. The booked days you can cancel are shown in amber on the calendar. Click on the day you need to cancel, a booking box will appear, select cancel. You will need to enter your PIN to confirm the cancellation. The aircraft icon for that day will be removed, your insurance for that day is then cancelled and your FlyCovered account credited with that day. For your FlyCovered account to receive a credit for the cancelled day, you must cancel it before 23.59 Hours (GMT) the day before you intended to fly.

Q:Is On Demand a traditional aviation insurance policy?

Q:Is Ground Cover+ a traditional ground cover policy?
A:No it's not a traditional ground cover policy. Our Ground Cover+ policy provides annual ground cover, the BIG+ is that you can add flight cover on the days you need it. The ground cover section is protecting the aircraft insured under this policy when it is not in flight, for physical loss of or damage to the aircraft. Eg theft, malicious damage or storm damage. It also covers your legal liability to others arising when the aircraft is not in flight, including when you are moving the aircraft or running the engines. Unlike other ground cover policies you don't have to upgrade to an annual policy or call a broker to arrange flight cover, it's all done online. The Insured Flying Days can be used for private and pleasure purposes including incidental business or professional purposes and advanced instruction of the pilots named on the policy, but not for hire or reward. You can fly as many hours as you wish on the Insured Flying Days you buy and book.

A:Free Insured Flying Days are part of our Price Cap. If your premium spend including the purchase of any Insured Flying Days, equals or is more than the Frequent Flyer annual premium we quoted you when you purchased your Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy, we automatically credit your FlyCovered account with FREE Insured Flying Days until your policy renews. You will still need to book Insured Flying Days through your Ground Cover+ or On Demand account but you won't be charged for these days.

Q:What is Flying Clothing and Effects cover?
A:This policy option provides up to £1,000 of cover in respect of physical loss of or damage to flying clothing and effects by theft or fire (or physical damage to flying clothing and effects if the aircraft itself is damaged). Flying clothing and effects means flying clothing, maps, navigating equipment and instruments, headsets, safety equipment or similar equipment (not being fixtures in the aircraft) and baggage (including contents) actually in or on the aircraft being the insured's property or the property of any pilot insured under the policy, but excluding money, credit cards, securities, jewellery and furs of all kinds. Q:How do I know the number of policy Days I have remaining on my Ground Cover+ or On Demand to use my Insured Flying Days?
A:The days remaining on your policy are always shown in your FlyCovered account. Log into your FlyCovered account and select FLIGHT PLANNER, you will find them in the bar above the calendar, along with the number of Insured Flying Days you have remaining in your account and the policy days you have remaining to use them. The remaining number of policy days and Insured Flying Days are also shown on your latest Certificate of Insurance and in the the My Documents section of Manage My Policy.

Q:Do you offer a No Claim Discount on FlyCovered Policies?
A:Yes, we offer a NCD on all of our policies. If you have an On Demand or Ground Cover+ policy, your No Claims Discount will increase by: 1 Insured Flying Day every renewal if you remain claim free, up to a maximum of 3 Insured Flying Days. 1 year claim free = 1 Insured Flying Day, 2 years = 2 Insured Flying Days, 3 years = 3 Insured Flying Days. If you have a Frequent Flyer policy, the no claim discount on your policy will increase by 1 year every renewal if you remain claim free, up to a maximum of 3 years i.e. 1 year claim free = 5% discount, 2 years = 7.5% discount, 3 years = 10% discount. Q:What are Rollover Days and how do they work?
A:Rollover Days are part of a policy. We are the first company to introduce Rollover Days to insurance and help you avoid wasting any premium. If you have a policy with unused or unbooked Insured Flying Days remaining on your FlyCovered account at your renewal date, we automatically Rollover up to 7 unused Insured Flying Days. This could give you up to 14 Insured Flying Days to use during your next policy period, if you renew your with us. The Rollover Days have no value should you cancel your policy following any renewal.

Q:If I add a new aircraft to my On Demand policy will it be allocated 7 Insured Flying Days?
A:It may not be allocated the full 7 days, the new aircraft will be allocated Insured Flying Days pro rata for the time remaining on the policy, e.g. if you have 6 months remaining on the policy when you add the new aircraft, you will receive 3 Insured Flying Days for the new aircraft.

Q:If I have an Ground Cover+ or On Demand, can I book Insured Flying Days without an internet connection?
A:Yes. Although this is an online insurance service we fully understand internet connections can be temperamental at times. If you are unable to get an internet connection, you can call our Customer Service Team on 0345 519 4678 lines are open 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The team can access your account with your permission and book an Insured Flying Day for you. To do this they will request a selection of letters from your memorable word, they will never request the whole word. If you feel the area you will be booking Insured Flying Days from will not have any internet access, you can book days prior to arriving at the airport.

Q:If I have a Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy and I forgot to book an Insured Flying Day on can I backdate cover?
A:No, this is not possible. With an Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy you must book an Insured Flying Day before any flight to be covered for flight risk. No cover can be backdated.

A:Yes you can. Instant cover is available on all of our policies. This is subject to the pilot(s) and the aircraft being accepted and you paying the full premium or the Direct Debit deposit by Credit or Debit card. If you have an On Demand policy you will need to book an Insured Flying Day to have flight cover. If you have a Ground Cover+ policy, you will need to buy and book an Insured Flying Day to have flight cover.

Q:If I buy additional insured flying days and then cancel my policy do I receive a refund for those days I haven't used.
A:Should you buy Insured Flying Days for your Ground Cover+ or On Demand account but cancel your policy before you use them all we will give you a pro rata return premium for those days. This will be added to the pro rata return premium for the remaining period you have left on your policy.

Q:If I add an additional pilot to my policy will they be able to use the Insured Flying Days on my account?
A:Yes they will, the new named pilot will be able to have flight cover when they have been accepted and added to the policy. They will not be covered until you have received a confirmation email from the administrator containing the new documents showing, the new pilots details. The named policyholder has to book the Insured Flying Days days through the FlyCovered account before any flight cover is in place.

Q:When I purchase a FlyCovered On Demand policy with more than one insured aircraft will each aircraft receive 7 Insured Flying Days?
A:Yes they do. When you purchase an On Demand policy, each aircraft is allocated 7 Insured Flight Days. If you add an aircraft mid term it may not be allocated the full 7 days, the new aircraft will be allocated Insured Flying Days pro rata, for the time remaining on the policy. e.g. if you have 6 months remaining on the policy when you add the new aircraft, you will receive 3 Insured Flying Days for the new aircraft.

Q:What is a policy Schedule and when do I receive it?
A:This is the document that the administrator sends you by email when you purchase this policy. It includes but is not limited to your details, the premium paid, the insured aircraft, insured pilots, and the sections of cover/endorsements applicable to your policy. If you have an Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy it will show the total number of Insured Flying Days available at the time of purchase. A revised Schedule will only be issued when there are variations to the terms and conditions of this policy and should you purchase any additional Insured Flying Days for an Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy.
