How can we help?

Question : certificate for ground risk cover

Q:If I have a FlyCovered Ground Cover+ or On Demand, how much will additional in-flight days cost to buy?
A:The premium for each Insured Flying Day is calculated at a daily rate and is linked to your risk. The daily premiums will be provided with your quote and are always shown in your FlyCovered account. With a Pay-As-You-Fly policy the additional days are at a fixed daily rate. With a Ground Cover+ policy the daily premiums reduce as you buy each additional day. With our Price Cap, no matter how many days you buy you will never pay more than the Frequent Flyer annual premium we quoted you, when you purchased your Pay-As-You-Fly or Ground Cover+ policy.

Q:Can I change from an Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy to a Frequent Flyer annual policy?
A:Yes but you will need to call our customer services team to arrange this. Also it may not be worth it. With our Price Cap you will never pay more than the Frequent Flyer annual policy, therefore you may be better off staying with this policy, if your flying more than 30 days during the policy period. If you have any unused or unbooked Insured Flying Days remaining in your FlyCovered account at your policy renewal date, we will automatically Rollover up to 7 unused flight days. Alternatively you can cancel your policy and take out a new Frequent Flyer annual policy, we will give you a pro rata return premium on your Ground Cover+ or On Demand to put against the new policy. The cancellation may be subject to a £25 administration fee. The Rollover Days have no value should you cancel your policy following any renewal. Rollover days cannot be moved between policy types; for example you are unable to move rollover days from an On Demand policy to a Ground Cover+ policy. This is because the days have different values.

Q:Is Ground Cover+ a traditional ground cover policy?
A:No. Our Ground Cover+ policy provides annual ground cover plus you can buy and add flight cover at a fixed daily rate on the days you need it. The ground cover section is protecting the aircraft insured under this policy when it is not in flight, for physical loss of or damage to the aircraft. Eg theft, malicious damage or storm damage. It also covers your legal liability to others arising when the aircraft is not in flight, including when you are moving the aircraft or running the engines. Unlike other ground cover policies you don't have to upgrade to an annual policy or call a broker to arrange flight cover, it's all done online. You can fly as many hours as you wish on the Insured Flying Days you buy and book.

Q:What is my Certificate of Insurance?
A:As an aircraft owner or operator you are required to have and be able to prove that you hold the minimum level of liability insurance required for your aircraft. The insurance certificate document provides this proof. When you purchase a Frequent Flyer policy we will send you an annual Certificate of Insurance. Should you select an Ground Cover+ or On Demand policy, we will send you a Certificate of Insurance for each period of insurance you book. We will also send you a new Certificate of Insurance should you make any changes to your policy. It is recommended that you carry your Certificate of Insurance when you are intending to operate your aircraft, should a CAA inspector require proof of cover. A copy is always available in your FlyCovered account.
