Acceptance criteria

We are unable to insure the following pilots:

Pilots that do not hold a valid pilots licence (NPPL, LAPL, PPL, CPL or ATPL) with the correct ratings, certificates and privileges for the aircraft being insured.
Pilots that do not hold a valid medical certificate or self-medical declaration for the licence and ratings held.
Pilots that are not residents in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, the Island of Guernsey, the Island of Jersey and the Island of Alderney.
Pilots that have fault claims paid and outstanding totalling more than £25,000 in the past 5 years.
Pilots aged 16 or younger at the start of the policy.
Pilots aged 77 or older at the start of the policy.
Pilots that have had more than 3 fault aviation claims settled or outstanding in the past 5 years.
Pilots that have had 3 licence violations including pending violations in the past 5 years.

We are unable to insure the following aircraft.

Aircraft with a value over £350,000.
Rotary-Wing aircraft.
Aircraft that are based outside of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, the Island of Guernsey, the Island of Jersey and the Island of Alderney.
Aircraft with a registration prefix of a country in The European Union (EU)
Fixed Wing aircraft which have a Maximum Take Off Weight (MTOW) over 5,700KG or under 390KG.
Aircraft that are considered a single seat de-regulated (SSDR) category aircraft.
Aircraft that are classed as a gyrocopter or FLEXWING microlight.
Aircraft that are classed as gliders, motor gliders, warbirds (including ex-military or replica), amphibious aircraft, aircraft fitted with floats, or aircraft configured for cargo use.
Aircraft that will be used for agricultural purposes, game capture & control, any type of racing, parachuting or glider towing.
Aircraft that will be used for any commercial use, including Ab-Initio instruction, commercial passenger carriage, commercial cargo rental, medevac, commercial aerial photography/filming, aerial survey, glider towing, air display, commercial operation for remuneration and/or hire and reward..
